Legend has it that the famed Eisner award never-nominated comic artist Simon Williams was born in the Marvel Universe... and is secretly the Avenger known as Wonder Man (no relation to Wonder Woman). With his dashing good looks, and his lethal Salvation Army-training, it's not hard to believe that this living embodiment of twisted steel and sex-appeal is the male equivalent to Lynda Carter.

In truth, I am a UK based professional comic artist who has worked on several Panini UK titles, starting off by drawing THE TRANSFORMERS and ACTION MAN, and then moving on to draw for Panini's range of MARVEL titles, drawing characters such as THE INCREDIBLE HULK, SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN and DEATH'S HEAD... thus achieving a life long dream of drawing my favourite Marvel Comics heroes.

My work has also been featured in various American comic-book publications, including TRANSFORMERS: BEAST WARS and MARS ATTACKS JUDGE DREDD from IDW,  a pin-up featured in Erik Larsen's SAVAGE DRAGON (issue 193, published by Image Comics), and the cover to WWE SUPERSTARS issue 10, published by Super Genius Comics (which was written by WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley!). This was another dream come true, as I'm a huge Wrestling fan, and both Mick and the Undertaker are all-time favourites of mine! My ambition is to someday draw for Marvel Comics in the US... specifically to work on the INCREDIBLE HULK, a character for whom I've been a life-long fan (and the reason I wanted to become a comic artist).

Death's Head HeroClix... based on artwork by myself,
David Roach and Jason Cardy.
Aside from comics, I have also produced artwork for various other forms of media, such as dvds, toys and collectable merchandise. These include the UK releases of the original TRANSFORMERS cartoon from Metrodome, and THE INCREDIBLE HULK (1966, 1982 and 1996 shows), the 90's X-MEN series and SPIDER-MAN (both the 1967 and 90's shows) from Clear-Vision. On the Action Figure front, a HeroClix of the Marvel Comics character DEATH'S HEAD was released in 2013, which was based upon artwork by myself (inked by David Roach and coloured by Jason Cardy) which was published in Panini Comic's DEATH'S HEAD vol.2 collection.

The Hoff and Stan Lee... with my artwork
for the Hoff: Heroes Of Fearless Freedom.
I am also the creator of the DISCOTRONIC FUNK Commandos, and the YMCAgent-- a group of superheroes from the 1970s who will be the lead characters in RETRO TALES, a creator-owned project published as part of my own RETRO COMICS GROUP imprint. While in the process of creating the RETRO TALES concept, I collaborated with both Hollywood TV and movie legend David Hasselhoff, and Rock Warrior/Legend Jon Mikl-Thor on various projects. These included developing and co-creating The Hoff: Heroes Of Fearless Freedom with David Hasselhoff, and also producing album artwork for Thor's Aristocrat of Victory and Thunderstryke 2 albums. In 2016, I also produced artwork for Thor's Rock Odyssey show, which was held in New York City's Highline Ballroom. I even got to design a new Armor for the Rock Warrior to wear, which Thor wore on the night!

In 2016, I was fortunate to work with Star Wars legend Warwick Davis, along with Chris Wilkins-Nelson on artwork for their new musical EUGENIUS, which debuted at the London Palladium on the 29th June 2016. Both were really cool to work with, and it was a thrill knowing my work was on display to such a large audience!

Here are some quotes from some of my friends and colleagues from the wonderful world of comics:

Jason Cardy (Transformers, Spectacular Spider-man Adventures, Marvel Heroes):
"Simon is a very professional, reliable and talented comicbook illustrator. His preferred style is that of old-school "classic" Marvel, in which he excels as his many comicbook strip-works and dvd illustrations prove.

I am proud to call Simon a very good friend since 1994 and can say that his artwork is an extension of who he is; love and care goes into each piece of work and he has performed for each client to the best of his abilities.

Based on his previous work and experience, I expect many great things to come from the renowned, accomplished pencils of Mr. Williams!"

Simon Furman (Creator of Death's Head, Dragon's Claws):
"Simon Williams has a real passion for his work and that shines through in his artwork. Layout, storytelling, character, dynamic action, Simon's a real comics all-rounder. Highly recommended."

Brady Webb (Editor at Panini Comics UK Ltd):
"Simon is a very talented comic artist, who consistently provides work of a high standard and full of energy. He brings to every commission his infectious enthusiasm and passion for the medium.
In addition, he is a pleasure to work with."

Mike Collins (UK Comics Legend):
"Simon is a classic comic book artist-- dependable, engaged, professional. He approaches assignments with enthusiasm and skill. He's well aware of the contributions of those who've come before but is also able to embody cutting edge skills to his style. He isn't jaded or merely functional as some can be in this job- there's a real love of the medium in every line he draws."

Andrew Wildman (Transformers, GI Joe, Spider-man 2099):
"Simon is an engaging and enthusiastic illustrator and one of the few today who truly capture the classic Mighty Marvel look."

David Hasselhoff (Knight Rider, Baywatch):
"Simon is Hofftastic!"

On that note, stay tuned to see what's next (or as they say in the funny books -- to be continued!)
